The Method

Feldenkrais is a learning method aiming at the facilitation of movements.

We are not moving according to our structural possibilities, but according to our self-image.
As a result, we limit ourselves to a small field
of our actual potential – rather than to draw
from the variety of movement options.

The Feldenkrais Method is today considered
to be one of the most sophisticated pedagogical
methods to improve mental and physical functions.

In decades of research nuclear physicist
Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais developed a method
that combines the knowledge of biomechanics, neuroscience, education and psychology into a highly effective system to promote learning
and health.

The method assumes that movement is the foundation of all human development processes. Our inner and outer attitudes are an expression
of our being; every thought, every feeling and every sensation has a physical correspondence.

The Feldenkrais Method explores the biological and cultural aspects of movement and posture, and how our usual ways to move, to feel, and to act restrict ourselves to a small field of our actual possibilities.

Due to our personal history, education, culture, injury, illness etc. we develop mental and physical behaviour. These patterns are deeply embedded in our nervous system, often out-dated or dys-functional and thus lead to unnecessary physical and psychological limitations.

The Feldenkrais Method uses organic learning, moving and feeling to set us free from restrictive patterns and creates new patterns of thinking, moving and feeling.

There are no prerequisites or knowledge necessary to participate in Feldenkrais courses or
individual lessons.

Clothing should be comfortable and allow movement without restrictions.

In case of physical limitations, injury or pain please consult a doctor to assess the exact cause and which movements can be executed without further injury.

Feldenkrais is a learning method, which aims to facilitate movement.
It does not replace medical consultation and treatment.

The individual and group lessons are designed in such a way that they complement each other
and use the ability of the nervous system to create more intelligent behaviour.
